Welcome to Perimeter College's Decatur Campus! We're ranked among the top 20 two-year colleges in the U.S. Here, students can choose from more than 30 academic pathways to an associate degree. Our beautiful grounds include rolling lawns, miles of sidewalks and a pedestrian nature trail, partly named for former First Lady Michelle Obama. We're located in Student Services Building 1-SF, which houses everything from enrollment services to financial services and our Learning & Tutoring Center. Campus initiatives include an annual Earth Week Expo, a community garden that cultivates connections between students and local residents, and a flagship scholarship and leadership program that links students to a wide array of success resources.

The Decatur Campus Community Garden is a hidden treasure and an educational tool for students who plant and harvest fruits, vegetables and herbs for the benefit of local nonprofits and campus neighbors in need of fresh produce. Students, faculty, staff and local residents maintain the community garden throughout the seasons. The garden helps students learn practical applications of concepts from science, business and humanities courses. A great bonus is that students are able to enjoy some of the fruits of their labor. Each year, the 9,000-square-foot garden yields approximately 1,000 pounds of food.

In Student Services Building 2-SA, you’ll find the TRIO Student Support Services, which aims to increase students' academic potential.The TRIO program serves college students who demonstrate academic need and are either first-generation, financially eligible or have a documented disability. Services are provided at no cost to eligible participants. Offerings include academic advising, individual and group tutoring, workshops, financial aid assistance, and career exploration and development. Other important units in this building include the PantherCard Office, Counseling Services, Georgia State LIFT Center, the Office of the Dean of Students and the Military Outreach Center.

The Decatur Campus Library offers more than just books. Throughout each semester, the library delivers online workshops on topics like research skills, time management, technology, citations and professionalism. Students can check out helpful technology, including Chromebooks and graphing calculators. The library also hosts fun engagements and wellness activities, like arts and crafts events and de-stress workshops. The library often provides special displays and giveaways during campus-wide celebrations, like Homecoming Week. Here students enjoy comfortable spaces for studying and collaborating with classmates.

Located in a picturesque area of campus just off the quad, the Decatur Campus Student Plaza is where lively campus events take place. This area offers several spaces with internet connection and charging ports that allow students to study and work outdoors. It is also the free speech site for the campus, where students can voice their thoughts and opinions about a variety of topics, political or otherwise.

The Decatur Campus Student Center in Building SC is a central gathering space for students, with multiple resources and services inside. The café is a lively hangout for relaxing and connecting with friends between classes. The cozy dining area is also home to our bookstore, which offers everything from books and technology to Georgia State swag, snacks and testing materials. Also located here is our Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Resource Center and our Student Life and Student Government Association. Student Life hosts fun activities throughout the semester, such as Blue Day each first Thursday of the month. Participating students wear Georgia State gear in exchange for free swag items.

Student Recreational Services is a central feature of the Decatur Campus, offering a fitness center, gym and swimming pool. Students can get in a quick cardio set or a leisurely swim during study breaks. The basketball courts are a big draw, with a number of students stopping by to sink a few shots between classes. Group fitness activities and intramurals are a great way to engage in college life here. Students enjoy intro to weight training and cardio-kickboxing classes while others get in on the action with intramural flag football, cornhole tournaments and basketball games.

Student classrooms on the Decatur Campus feature modern technology and equipment to enhance the student learning experience. Small class sizes mean that students receive more one-on-one attention from their professors. Plus, flexible online offerings, hybrid and on-campus course offerings allow students to study and learn from wherever, however they need to. Graduates of associate degree programs can transition seamlessly to Georgia State's Atlanta Campus, which offers the largest selection of bachelor's degree programs in the state, or they can move on to other prominent and competitive insitutions across the country.

The Decatur Campus' rolling slopes and pathways attract students and local fitness enthusiasts alike. You'll find people walking here daily. In 2018, the DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs named a 3.8-mile trail that begins on the Decatur Campus after former United States First Lady Michelle Obama. The trail is part of the South River Trail System and the first in the country to be named after the former first lady. Students enjoy taking study breaks to walk the trail and catch up with friends and classmates. The trail begins on the Decatur Campus and connects to the nearby Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology.
