CSUN is in a great location, with Hollywood, the mountains and beaches nearby. We're here in the Orange Grove, home to more than 400 orange trees, many of which have been growing since the 1940s. At one time, the San Fernando Valley was filled with groves like this. Today this is the valley's largest grove in existence. It's an ideal outdoor space where you can study, relax or go for a walk. The grove features a large pond with a waterfall and a bridge, and a variety of turtles, ducks and koi fish thrive here. There's also a solar observatory, one of only a dozen in the country.
Plaza del Sol

The Plaza del Sol is the heart of the University Student Union. Catch up with friends and enjoy one of the many regular events that happen here — noontime concerts, giveaways and more – along with Matador Nights and the Night Market, two popular student events. Associated Students, CSUN's student government, and AS Productions are headquartered here, and you can get discounted transit, movie and theme park tickets at the AS Ticket Office. University Student Union is also home to the DREAM Center, Pride Center, Veterans Resource Center and International and Exchange Student Center, along with a computer lab where you can print 20 free pages per day. When you're on the go, grab a quick bite at the Mercado or a coffee at Freudian Sip.
Student Recreation Center

This is the Student Recreation Center, a three-story, 283,000-square-foot recreation facility on campus that is paid for by student fees, so there's no additional cost to join. As a CSUN student, you'll have access to an indoor rock-climbing wall, an outdoor pool, weight rooms, fitness classes and personal training. There's an indoor jogging track, an array of sports courts, studios for dance and yoga, and an outdoor turf field.
You'll also find the Outdoor Adventures office here. Make memories on an incredible adventure trip or join an Outdoor Leadership program, rent camping and climbing gear, visit the Matador Bike Shop or join in a variety of team-building programs, workshops and clinics. Incoming first-year students will want to check out Camp Matador, a fun weekend retreat.

The Soraya

The Soraya's dramatic design features a 1,700-seat Great Hall that is acoustically adjustable to accommodate all types of performances, from classical concerts and dance to jazz, lectures and more. CSUN's music ensembles perform in the Great Hall a few times each semester, and students can participate in professional productions. You get a discount with your CSUN student ID, and sometimes shows are free for students!
The theatre department also uses spaces here, including the Courtyard Theatre, costume and scene shops, and a lighting lab. There's a 178-seat black box theatre for experimental and smaller-scale student productions, and two rehearsal spaces. It's also home to our radio station, 88.5 FM The SoCal Sound, and the online HD station latinalt.org, where journalism students get hands-on experience.
Premier America Credit Union Arena

CSUN is a Division 1 school for men's and women's athletic teams, and here in the Premier America Credit Union Arena is where you'll find much of the action. Located inside Redwood Hall, the arena is a 2,200-seat facility with basketball, volleyball and intramural sports courts, a center scoreboard and a performance floor. Sporting events are free for students with a valid CSUN ID, so get ready to show your school spirit! If you're not a D1 athlete, you can still play sports against other college athletes through sports clubs and intramural sports.
Redwood Hall features locker rooms, classrooms and a fitness training room. On the east side of the building, you'll find kinesiology research labs, additional playing spaces, dance studios and the Intercollegiate Athletics Office.
Student Housing and Residential Life

Welcome to the heart of Student Housing, where Matadors find their home away from home in a fun, supportive environment.
Studies show that students who live on campus excel academically. In Student Housing, you can choose from multiple living options: suites, apartments or family residences. We also offer residential communities where you can live alongside peers with the same major or personal interests. No matter where you live, you'll enjoy social events, swimming pools, sports courts, a 24-hour game room, wireless internet, printing stations and access to tutoring. Residents with a Meal Plan have two dining options — G'mos and Bamboo Terrace. CSUN Student Housing offers safe, gated communities, plus the convenience of only being a short shuttle ride, walk or bike ride away from your classes.
Bayramian Hall

Bayramian Hall is your first stop as a potential future Matador — to connect with Student Outreach and Recruitment, where you'll learn more about CSUN's admissions process. It's also our student services center, where you'll find the offices of admissions and the registrar, financial aid and more. Several student support services are also housed here in Bayramian Hall, including Disability Resources and Educational Services, EOP — the Educational Opportunity Program — and University Counseling Services.
Extended University Commons

The Extended University Commons is where you'll find the Matador Advising Hub and the Tseng College for graduate, international and midcareer education. The Matador Advising Hub, often referred to as "The Hub," is where most undergraduate students go for academic advisement as new Matadors.
The Tseng College offers graduate degree and certificate programs in a variety of rapidly growing fields, and its international English language and college-preparation program for international students is among the nation's largest.
The building is one of the campus's most sustainable structures, and it features state-of-the-art classrooms and conference rooms along with an atrium at its center.
Campus Store

Drop by the Campus Store to purchase all your textbooks, supplies and Matador gear — from T-shirts, hats and hoodies to Matador-themed gifts. You can save up to 50% by renting your textbooks, and if you find a lower price online, the Campus Store will offer a price match. The in-store Tech Center is an Apple-authorized retailer, providing educational discounts on Apple products along with service, support and repair services by Apple technicians.
The Campus Store is a big complex with several dining options and a Matador Mercado for supplies, snacks and grab-and-go meals. There's also plenty of seating, making it the perfect spot to grab a bite and catch up with friends between classes.
National Center on Deafness and Klotz Student Health Center

You'll find high-quality health care in an inclusive, comfortable and compassionate environment at the Klotz Student Health Center. In addition to primary care, Klotz offers acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition counseling, physical therapy, sexual health and optometry services. Students can also get X-rays, have lab work done and fill prescriptions. In-person and telehealth services are available at little or no cost for currently enrolled students.
Across the way you'll find NCOD: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, which assists CSUN's students, faculty and staff who are Deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind. NCOD supports students through academic advising, leadership opportunities, scholarships and select direct communication classes while fostering an active and engaged Deaf community on campus. The center also provides interpreting and transcription services as well as captioning for campus instructional media.
University Library

The University Library is at the center of campus, and it's packed with features. With four floors and a Garden Level, it's the largest library in the San Fernando Valley. You'll find computer workstations, a coffee shop, comfortable seating, private study rooms and the Creative Maker Studio, where you can access multimedia design and production tools.
Laptops, tablets and hotspots are available for semester long loans through Library Technology Services, and if you need help with editing, proofreading or other academic support, you can visit the University Writing Center or the Learning Resource Center.
The University Library Lawn is home to many events throughout the year, including commencement. If the building looks familiar, that's because it's appeared in several Hollywood movies and television shows!

The Hollywood Reporter consistently ranks CSUN's film program among the top 25 in the country. As a student in this program, you'll learn in state-of-the-art facilities and have access to internship and career opportunities with leading entertainment companies.
Art and Design students can participate in Intersect LA, a student-operated creative strategy agency. Communication Studies students can polish their skills in a performance ensemble. Accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), this college is renowned for its well-equipped, hands-on learning and research labs, including a machine shop, mechanics lab, concrete lab and civil engineering computer lab. Hands-on projects range from human- and solar-powered vehicles and Formula SAE race cars to intelligent ground vehicles and mobile robots.
You'll enjoy small classes, often with fewer than 30 students, and funded internship opportunities. If you're an Engineering major, be sure to check out Tech Fest, the college's annual engineering career fair.
College of Social and Behavioral Sciences

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences has the largest enrollment of all CSUN's colleges. Africana Studies has a space on campus called the Black House, and the Hip Hop Think Tank provides educational programs that advance learning skills through tutorial programs. The Geography department is one of the largest in the nation and houses a huge map collection. More Psychology graduates from CSUN go on to earn Ph.D.s than from any other non-Ph.D.-granting institution in the country. Interested in law? You can choose the 3+3 B.A./J.D. Success in Six program, where you can earn your bachelor's and juris doctoral degrees in just six years. CSUN's College of Science and Mathematics is among the top in the nation for preparing students who go on to earn doctoral degrees. If you plan to attend medical, dental or pharmacy school, this college is just what you need because here education is viewed as a fusion of classroom teaching and hands-on research that actively engages students.

Michael D. Eisner College of Education

The only undergraduate degree in this college is Deaf Studies, and CSUN is one of only two institutions in the nation that offer a comprehensive undergraduate program. The Deaf Studies major prepares students to become sign language interpreters and instructors, counselors, teachers of the Deaf and advocates in other careers working with people who are Deaf and hard of hearing. Deaf Studies is active in sponsoring many campus activities.
Graduate programs prepare future teachers and administrators.
While it's one of the largest education colleges in California, it offers small classes, personal attention and plentiful access to fieldwork, service-learning and internship opportunities.

It's also where we you can participate in the Tradition of the Rose — placing a red rose at the foot of the majestic Matador.
