Say hello to the state-of-the-art Science and Nursing Building. This is where our future doctors, nurses and scientists start their higher-education journey. From top to bottom, this facility is packed with cutting-edge technologically advanced classrooms and laboratories. Students have the opportunity to learn from our highly qualified faculty members in an environment that simulates real-world settings. As you move throughout the space, you will see a wide variety of hands-on educational opportunities, biologists inspecting butterfly mouthparts under the SEM microscope, geologists studying sedimentary actions of oceans and glaciers, nurses monitoring virtual patients in the simulation lab and so much more.

Nursing

If you're considering entering the nursing field, you've come to the right place. Did you know 95% of our nursing students pass the NCLEX on their first try? Kent State Stark offers the optimal educational environment for nursing students. Our highly qualified faculty members work side-by-side with the students in this beautiful, state-of-the-art facility. The classroom is set-up as a virtual hospital, with 12 beds and virtual patients. Right next door, two labs house patient simulators. These technologically advanced tools can blink, breathe, talk and simulate countless real-world health care situations. This awesome education environment allows our graduates to hit the ground running and enter the health care field with a wealth of knowledge.

Main Hall is where you begin your Kent State Stark experience. It's a one-stop shop for student services. Admissions counselors will help you enroll. Advisors are on-hand to help you choose a major and classes. Our financial aid experts will help you with your FAFSA, loans, grants and scholarships. Student employment officers can help you find a campus job. These friendly faces work together to make sure you have your FLASHcard, your FREE parking pass and the knowledge to successfully navigate Your Hometown University.

Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center is the home our campus library, but it offers so much more. Students will not only find a wealth of reference materials, but they also have access to computer labs, printers, scanners, a 3-D printer and also a quiet place to study. If you're having trouble with a paper, visit The Writing Center. This free service offers students a chance to work one-to-one with a tutor and improve their writing skills. The LRC is also home to the Veterans Commons, a space reserved exclusively for Kent State Stark's current veteran or active-service students.

Campus Center

The Campus Center is the perfect place to feed the body and the mind. On the top floor, you will find the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Flash's Bistro and plenty of space to relax, hang out with friends and study. If you're hungry, the Bistro offers delicious and nutritious meals. On the ground floor, students will find a wide variety of services, including free tutoring, student life opportunities, career and internship advice and accessibility services. The Campus Center is also home to Flash's Food Pantry. If you need assistance inside or outside of the classroom, we are here to help.

Fine Arts Building

The Fine Arts Building is the home to Kent State Stark's creative side. In the William J. and Pearl F. Lemmon Visiting Artist Gallery, you will find traveling exhibits from national and international artists. In the Mary J. Timken Theatre, you'll find a talented cast of community actors performing thought-provoking plays. In the brand-new Concert Band room, you will find a variety of musicians – from chorus singers to jazz improvisers to a full orchestra.

Music Technology

Music Technology is the fastest-growing degree program on campus. It might also have the coolest classrooms. This brand new, state-of-the-art facility gives students the opportunity to work in a professional setting using industry standard equipment and software. Housed inside the recent Fine Arts expansion, the program has two recording and tracking studios, an expansive recital hall, more than a dozen practice rooms and a black box performance space. Throughout their four-year journey, students will master music theory, learn to play an instrument, perform in ensembles, create professional recordings and build an awesome audio toolkit to prepare them for a lifelong career in the industry.

Recreation and Wellness Center

The Recreation and Wellness Center is here to help you get fit and find your perfect exercise routine. You have access to a wide variety of cardio and nautilus equipment, as well as a large selection of free weights, resistance bands and a TRX station. Students looking for group-exercise opportunities can join classes, such as yoga, Zumba, bootcamp and spin. Each semester, there are intramural opportunities, as well as weekly pickup basketball and volleyball games. And the best part, there is no additional fee to join the Rec center.
