Visit Alexandria is the nonprofit tourism marketing organization for Alexandria, VA. Located less than 30 minutes away of the nation’s capitol, Alexandria boasts more than 200 independent restaurants and boutiques alongside intimate historic museums and new happenings at the waterfront.
While Alexandria’s proximity to Washington, D.C. makes it easy for tourists to visit two cities in one trip, it also means the city needs to “compete” with D.C. to attract guests. That’s why Visit Alexandria partnered with YouVisit to showcase the city’s landmarks and amenities with immersive 360-degree content.
The virtual tour is viewable across mobile, desktop, and VR—and includes interactive 360-degree photos, videos, and guided narration. The experience showcases more than 20 local attractions, including the historic Captain’s Row, Mount Vernon recreation trail, King Street restaurants, the stunning waterfront vista at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, and historic sites like the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum.
